March 19, 2020 These are the daffodils in my backyard - so pretty! Boys and Girls, Spring has sprung! Today, draw a picture of a beautiful flower. Be detailed and creative. Also, write some words to describe your flower; how does it look, what might it smell like, how big will it grow? Please remember our Lenten prayers, and continue to help your folks and family. Today is the Feast Day of Saint Joseph, Jesus's father here on earth. God always has someone looking out for us. Be sure to help your helpers today! God bless you! P.S. I have added a picture page! Remember Miss Silvia teaching about shadows? And remember our farmer friend telling us where our food comes from? My little pup, Emerald, has taken over Botanist duties. Parents, please review the Online Component page. I am preparing this for online lessons beginning in earnest next week. This week really should be spent reviewing all your Kindergartner has learned thus far. Remind my students we had been in school one hundred, sixteen days, but I will now add today, Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Ask them what 116+1 more day is. Remind them tomorrow, Thursday, begins SPRING!! Plan to head outside for either our LAST WINTER OBSERVATION or our FIRST SPRING OBSERVATION. Remind them they are scientists, using their senses to see what nature is doing. Please have them jot down some of their thoughts (dating them is a great idea). I'm jealous - our signs of spring is one of my favorite lessons. I am so grateful to have such wonderful children as my students, and I am blessed because of you folks, and your trust in my methods. I know you are your child's first teacher, so I will take a deep breath and know we're a team. PLEASE, reach out to me if you have any concerns, questions, or just need to reach out. If there is anything you need, please ask. We are part of a lovely parish community, and are here for each other. Breathe, pray, love! March 15, 2020 As our situation changes, so will the plans for my students' studies. Please check here for my next steps on our educational path! For this coming week, please have your student spend some time working on the packet I provided. The packet was not meant to be completed within a week, simply to review concepts at your leisure and keep skills sharp. I encourage you to explore some of the free online sites provided on my resource page - it is so wonderful to see so many museums and educational institutions expanding memberships and encouraging visits to their vast online materials. Be sure to stay safe and healthy, look out and care for your fellow man, and never stop trusting in the Lord. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven Matthew 5:16
